Security patch will not install

When I try to update my XPsp2 machine from the update web site it says I need
KB892843. It attempts to install but always fails. I have tried to manually
download and install, but that fails also. How can I overcome this problem?

Make sure (Task Manager) that Outlook is actually closed.

When you say "fails", how? Do you get an error message?
