Security:Inherited From/Parent Object/Child Object ???

N

Need2Know

I want to have an explanation of the following terms :

Inherited From
Parent Object
Child Object

These can be found at the panel "Advanced Security
Settings for ..."

I looked at what Windows says they are but I still don't
understand.

Are they talking about files/folders or groups/users ?

Parent Object:

Child Object:

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type in: INHERITANCE
Then click on "How inheritance affects file and folder permissions".
