Hello,

I have a 2k advanced server and I want to increase the size of the secuirty
log for auditing, have plenty of hard drive space to increase the size I only
want to increase it from 256k to 50mb

When I change the size to 50000 the server takes the changes without any
issue but when I come back to check the logs after 1 day it has not increased
past 256k and I have tons of audits running. When it hits the 256k limit it
dumps everything eventhough I have it set to keep logs up to 5 days.

the 256k limit in reached after about 10min of logging

I have rebooted the server and changed the size up and down and the log will
not go past 256k. Please let me know what I am doing wrong or suggest a
third party software that can keep track of more logs than just 10min.
THank you

Michael

ok, thank you I will check into that

Michael,

It appears that this is could be a bug in Win2K that has been corrected by a
hotfix according to the following KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;312571

Thanks.
