Security Center Problems

I recently uninstalled an antivirus program from earthlink called "Earthlink
protection control center". Now that it is gone from my system, The securty
center still thinks it's on my computer even though it' s not and I'm not
using it anymore. Can anyone please help me? Thx.

i am now using Windows firewall and Avg Free so there should be no conflict
with the Control Center and I dont know why it's still there. Thx
 
this is seems to something like that Earthlink is not properly removed while
uninstalling. You can try the followings:

Repair your registry with a good third party utilities.
Update your current Anti-Virus program.

If this doesn't work and the Security Center warrning is annoying you then
you can turn it off through

Rigth-clicking My Computer - Manage - Services - locate for Security Center
service.
Double-click on it. Choose Start-up type to Disable and click Stop.
 
I tried repairing registry with over 6 programs. Didn't work. Now it's even
causing AU problems, Security center problems and all other problems. Please
Help. Thx
