Secure a shared folder

Hi there,

I have a small network and have shared a folder between them so I can
transfer data faster, but I'm wondering how I can best secure this from
un-auth people?

I have Norton Internet Security on both computers whcih states it is keeping
an eye on it, but want ot make sure no one else see my private data
