Secur32.dll error

D

D

When I start my W2K machine I get the below error whenever zone alarm and
Norton antivirus attempts to load.

XXXXX is an invalid windows image
C:\secur32.dll

1. How do I correct this?
2. Why is this dll file in both the system directory and root directory?

Thanks for any help, I have already scanned 2,293 messages from this
newsgroup with no luck and a search at Microsoft's site turns up nothing,
although I know the answer is there somewhere.

Thanks,

D,

I don't see anything that looks directly related, I recommend uninstalling
these products then checking the secur32.dll to see if it is still there.
Update the Service Pack.

Then re-installed the apps to see if you get the same error and if the file
re-appears.

Great thanks.

For now I have deleted secur32.dll in the c:\ drive and replaced it with a
copy of the one in the sys directory. That appears to have done the trick
and my computer is booting up much quicker now. I'll try you suggested and
see if puts the file back in c:\ or if there are any other changes.

Again, thanks for the response.
