Chris

I recently reinstalled XP Home edition and ever since i
have not been able to access the Internet. I have a DSL
connection and am able to ping names as well as IP
addresses. The problem is IE and other programs (Kazaa,
Outlook Express etc) don't recognise the connection. If I
work in safe mode with networking all works fine. I have
tried everything such as disabling all startup items &
services etc but still no luck. Any help/ideas would be
greatly appreciated.

Nah, thats not the problem. Dial-up doesn't work either.
When i open IE it says The page cannot be displayed.
Telnet wont work it says port 25 is unreachable. Other
programs either don't recognise the connection or say that
it is dead. Winsock is working fine and everything else
works ok in Safe Mode...

Does "ipconfig /renew" work correctly?
