Second monitor not shown under Display Properties - Settings

Hi,

I think you are my last chance now ...

I have been trying to configure the Multiple Monitor Feature for a friend
for some time now and it just won´t work.

The second monitor (actually a TV) does not show up under Display
Properties - Settings. The Graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 and the
latest drivers are used.

When checking Force TV detection on the GeForce FX 5200 tab under advanced
the TV is displayed as an option in nView display settings and when
selecting the TV as Current display everything works but only in Single
Display mode (any other option for nView display mode is never available).

Is there a way to force dual display mode or force windows to detect the TV?
Any help appreciated - the TV is downstairs so switching current display in
single mode is not an option ...

You don't say how the TV downstairs is connected to the computer.
Are both "monitors" connected to a Single Vid card?
Is there a second card? Is it PCI? What's your "First Video Device" set to
in BIOS, if you're using two cards? (Some older PCI cards have to be set as
1st.)

Actually it is an AGP card. I opened the box and checked.
In the device manager it says to occupy PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0.

Terminology for my ATI is different from nVidia's. However, help may result
with more info from you.
You may be correct when you say you need to get Windows to recognize the
TV (other monitor). XP's Advanced Display Properties Settings holds the
"Extend My Desktop" function. Also allows choosing which monitor is the
"Primary".

What does "Current Display" do, exactly?
What does "Single Display mode" do, exactly?
[According to your Help File, not observation.]
Have you been to nVidia's site and checked Support?FAQs?Forums if any?

What happens when you set TV to Current Display and reboot?
What about when you run the Find New Hardware wizard?
