Second hard drive stuck in DMA Mode 2

Recently I went to play a video from my second hard drive and the
audio/video was very choppy. I went to check it under device manager
and it was set DMA if available/ DMA Mode 2. I then checked it in bios
but it was set to DMA Mode 5 there. Anyone know how I can change this

I assume you're reading the properties of the Primary IDE channel. Did it ever
display as DMA mode 5 before? If not, you'll need to replace the 40 connector
data cable with an 80 connector cable in order to get beyond mode 2.

Oops...that should read "80 conductor data cable" not "80 connector cable".
