Second hard disk does not appear on Windows Explorer or My Compute

I just installed a new HArd drive from Western Digital 500g hard drive. My
device manager can pick it up and tell me it is running fine but it is not
acceible for me to save on it. I cannot find it in Windows Explorer or when i
go thru the My Computer icon.
 
Hi,

Windows Explorer and My Computer are the same thing. It will not show there
until at least one partition has been created. Click start/run, type
diskmgmt.msc and click ok. Right click the new drive and choose the option
to create a new partition. Once created, you must format it in order to
begin using it to store data.

Did you create a partition and then format it first?
