Look for a file called spp.reg. I found mine under C:\winnt
again that file that keeps reloading the awful hijack is spp.reg at
least on my PC. I recommend changing the URL inside it like
www.searchxl.com becomes www.google.com. That seems to work. Many of
these nasty files are recreated by something that goes back and
recreates it. So it best to modify it unless anyone has any reason to
think it is not recreated.
Just to be on the safe side I modified it and now I do not get that
annoying searchxl.com - The registrars should revoke their domain.
That site is bad news. If this was an attack on them then they should
respond by removing any such code from their site but it all looks
like they are guilty from what I can see.
This viral malicious code does not make me want to buy or search
anything on their site It makes me want to write arins and ICann and
see them off the air as it were. Hey they did this with relayed mail
servers and they should do it with wacked web sites with viral code
running from them like these.
