searching in non-adjacent cells

there is a column with values like

23
67
1
89
34
56

now the min() would give me 1 . I discard 1 and I want to search fo
the smallest value in the remaining values. how do I do this?

Please suggest a formula

what is the logic to skip values=? do you want to skip only '1'
 
=SMALL($C$3:$C$8,2)
will get you 23
=SMALL($C$3:$C$8,3)
will get you 34
