search tool - not Ransack

Hello all

Some time ago there was a thread about a search tool, which implied Ransack
was a bit of a memory hog, and suggesting a better tool.

"Ho, hum" thinks me, "Ransack works for me"

Well, I just ran a big search (for my N.I.N details), which got lost in
Thunderbird's shenanigans, and watched me Rampage readout wind quickly down
from 350 to 1meg.

The box didn't crash - one up for Rampage - but took ages to struggle out
of it.

So public apology, and could you remind me of the other search engine that
was mentioned?

Thanks for your help, Mike.

Copernic was a real stumer, like a sort of Msoft "my email" "my music"
whatever, and a very strange tool which put a search bar on my systray, and
required file extensions input - a bit daft if the string you need might be
any where.

Also it wouldn't uninstall - I had to rip it out by the roots.

But Inforapid looks really good; just to check I asked the same silly
question as Ransack, and it dealt with it quite well, but when I finally
got the results I could see why it had crashed Ransack. My fault really, I
should have taken smaller bytes... ;-)

But inforapid is AFACS an excellent prog - thanks
