search results incomplete help help help

when i search for files and folders, the search only looks in the first
directory level of the "search in" criteria.

i.e.
if i issue a search for *.exe in c:, i get no search results.
if i issue a search for *.exe in c:\windows, I get all exe's in directory,
but none in the subdirectories

could it be some setting that i can't find??

any help appreciated!!!!

When you launch search you should see an entry on the left "More
Advanced Options". Click on the arrow next to it. Check "Search
subfolders". You might also consider checking "Search system
files" and "Search hidden files and folders" as well. Click the
arrow again to hide these options.

Hi katslam,

In the left sidebar of the Search window, click on More advanced options and
then select further parameters for your searches (eg., Search system
folders, Search subfolders, etc.)
