Search Preferences

Although I have changed my internet 6.0 search
preferences and restarted Internet Explorer, it always
reverts back to a "Quick Search" menu versus "Search
companion" How can I get rid of "Quick Search"?

First, scan the system for parasites and remove them. SpyBot S&D searches
your harddisk for Spyware and Adware

(Remember to perform a Webupdate to have the latest definitions installed)

This will remove malware from the PC. Next, reset the Search Engine. Click
the Search button in the toolbar > Customize > AutoSearch Settings > Select
a provider from the list.
Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Programs > "Reset Web Settings"

Jim, It work for one time and then when I restarted IE it
reverted back to "Quick Search" Bob

I was already using SpyBot but this worked after
installing Adaware and finding 53 objects to be removed.

i did it all just as you said. however, i still have 18
previous searches listed. i have even run regedit and
manually deleted the stored search characters (i thought),
then exited. did i need to export the new registry file?
anyway, no luck getting rid of the previous searches. any
other words of wisdom? please help!! and thanks. direct
