Search Not Working

Hi

I hope that someone might be able to help me. I have a user running XP Pro
and I have a bit of an odd problem.

When the user tries to use the search function from either the start menu or
the search button in Windows Explorer all they get is the little animated dog
but no search dialog box.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem as I can seem
to find any reference to it on the internet.

If you get Agent Ransack (free) you won't care whether "Search" works. It's
kinda like taking Valium when your foot's on fire.
