I am trying to build a search gui to have a place to fill in the info
that i am looking for. I have all this data in sheet2 sorted by year,
project name, contact ext. and I want to make a search page in sheet1
where I can search for these criteria's. E.g. if I want all the
projects from year 2003 then I would also like to have the result
appear in sheet1 with all the info Project name, contact ext. I would
like to have in sheet1 a place where I can put as much info and it
will find the most suitable project that fits what I am looking for.
Where should I start

Sounds like you could accomplish this with Advanced Filter with the "Copy to
another location" option checked. Try recording a macro when you do this
manually and you should have all the code you need to attach to a search
button.
