Search function error writting scripts

running xp with sp2. When I click on the MS search it appears on the side but
can not select a new search . Nothing happens. When I try to customize the
search I get a script error over and over. I also at times get the IE has an
error and must close. Sorry.
I have run spyware and virus programs and nothing found.
Please help as I like the MSN search as it keeps my previous searches.

Have you tried reinstalling your MS Search add-on?

No, the only thing I have done is tried reseting to default. How do I
reinstall the MS Search add on??
