search for dvd drivers?

i have a gateway solo 9500 with a quanta dvd-rom drive and
xp pro installed. the drive is not playing any disks. the
driver starts to spin the disk and then it stops. the
driver tries this several times by its self and then
quits. i believe the drivers are corrupted. where on the
xp disk or elsewhere can i find the drivers? thanks for
any help given.

If the DVD-ROM drive came with the system then Gateway is the place to go
fro drivers.

Do you have DVD software installed? You need something on the order of
PowerDVD or WinDVD to play your DVD.
