search feature and can not connect to google

I can't connect to google.com and the search feature in
IE 6 won't work.

Any ideas here?

I tried the spybot(sypbot and Adaware) idea, it found
spyware, and got rid of it, but my I still can not do any
google search.

What else is in your bag of tricks
