search engines and drop down menu bars

I have read that search engine spiders cannt read drop down menus and you
should have your menu written somewhere else on teh page so that they can go
through that - is this true? My website www.mountain-toursltd.com doesn't
come anywhere near the top of rankins when you type in the one town it deals
with - Livigno - should I do something to the menu page apart from putting in
meta tags?
thanks in advance for any suggestions,

its #1 if you search; mountain tours livigno
its #3 if you search; livigno tours
its #1 if you search; livigno mountain

that's how i would search anyway...and the results are pretty good for you,
me thinks.

Thanks for all your replies - Crash - was that Google you were searching on?
I do know that most people just put in Livigno and hope they come up with
something decent and on Yahoo especially I am on page - god knows where as I
just kept going forward and never found myself. However if people put in
those words that is great - will have to try google with just Livigno again.
Thanks Ronx for letting me know that the menu bar is fully spider friendly '
-psnet ages doing it and agonising over it so it is good that I don't have to
change it.
Also thanks Corey - will certainly be looking at those websites they look
really interesting!

YOu guys are just brilliant when I have a problem - am quite embaressed by
some of my earlier questions - hope they will soon be deleted!

yep it was google.

searching on just Livigno would be like searching just on Rome...it's too
broad a search...most people (one would hope) know how to qualify searches
by now :)

btw...i don't think anything ever gets deleted off the internet...it just
floats off into the ether
