Search engine key words

I'm pretty much of a computer idiot, but have managed to teach myself enough about FrontPage 2000 to design and publish a website for my small business. I've attached a list of search-engine key words to my home (index) page and appear to have done so properly. However, when I access a search engine and enter some of my website's key words, the search engine does not list my index page. The website has only been up about 10 hours - does it take a while for the key words to work their way into the various search engines, or does it look like I've done something wrong? Thanks in advance to whoever can provide some help.

Your subject is OT for this group, but I happen to know the answer...

There is a lot more to it than just adding a list of keywords. Google for the
following search terms, so you can come up to speed:
- SEO keywords
- "Search Engine Optimization"
- "link popularity"
- "keyword density"
In general, you have to include keywords strategically within your text, have
RELEVANT incoming links, and have pages that are easily indexed (i.e., no
search engine reads Javascript, most don't read Flash + have trouble with
frames, and Google ignores the META Keywords tag). Finally, expect to wait AT
LEAST a month to see results.

Thank you to the unkown responder - I appreciate it. What does OT mean -- I'm new to the newsgroup process and don't want to offend or abuse.

No problem...
OT = usenet abbreviation for Off Topic
(i.e., this is a forum for questions about IE6 on Windows)
