Search Does not work

After installing XP Service Pack 2 I can not get the "search" to work. I
got used to using this to find files on my hard drive. Any ideas how to
fix? Any one else have the same problem? I have un-installed Service Pack
2 and the search works fine and as soon as I reload the update it quits.
