I am having a problem running my search companion. It is
saying that a file that is required to run search
companion can not be found, you may need to run setup. I
have no idea what to do. Can anyone help me with this?

What most likely is missing or corrupt are the files bar.xsl, lclsrch.xml and/or
balloon.xsl.
Clean out your temporary internet files and then try reinstalling Srchasst.inf.
Reinstalling Search Companion
.. Locate the file "srchasst.inf"
.. Click Start, Run and enter %SystemRoot%\inf to open directly to the inf
folder
The default location is C:\Windows\Inf\srchasst.inf
.. Once you locate the file, right click and click install.
.. Browse to the "I386" folder on your XP CD.
