searc folders

HELLO

Search folder is perfect improvement of Outlook 2003. But I would like to
customize them more than is standard. For example:

1) I would like to search for all messages from some domain
(microsoft.com etc.).So I have created advanced criteria "from contains
microsoft.com but in this case search folders looks at resolved names not at
email address and messages are not found. Is it possible to change this
behavior?

2) It is possible to change criteria "Mail sent to distribution list"
to "Mail sent/received to/from distribution list"?

Is there some document how to customize search folders which is more
detailed than help in outlook?

Thank you

How are you creating the domain rule? Using the From field on the first tab
or on the Advanced tab? One From field works correctly with email addresses
(or just domains), the other uses the display names.

No, you can't really change the criteria. You can use Advanced search to
control it, but since criteria is ANDd together, it's only good for one per
folder.

Customizing search folders is not really difficult, once you understand how
the filter works. It's the same filter used in Advanced Find, Automatic
formatting, and Views. I did a short article on Advanced Find for
Outlookpower.com earlier in the year and it should be archived at the site.
