Scvhost has recently started tripping my firewall (Norton). What does this
do and why would it need internet access?

TIA

Hi Kevin,

If you spelled it correctly, scvhost.exe, then you are infected with the
agobot virus:
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32agobott.html

You will need to update your antivirus software and remove the bugger
(requires some manual recovery steps).

If you misspelled the file and actually meant svchost.exe, then refer to the
links provided by David.

My understanding is that if you do a search for SVCHOST, and when you
find it the file is in all CAPS, that it is a virus.
