I am at wits end. I have looked everywhere and all I can find is suggestions
regarding physical SCSI setup. I recently installed windows 2000
Professional. It installs and runs correctly. I instally basic drivers and
update windows and then it starts. I recieve eveintID9 errors on my SCSI
controller. The Computer then for some reason cannot read any CDs or DVDs.
Attempting to read brings excessive event errors. I currently us a removable
harddisk setup to switch between windows 98 and windows 2kp. Windows 98 has
no problem at all running. Windows 2kp recieves errors after installing SP4.
It also seems to start after installing office XP. I then tried to scan for
viruses thinking i caught one updating. nope. Unless i go to symantec then
it locks up in various spots during the scan. I have check microsoft's web
site. they only suggestion is cableing or termination. If that was correct
the cdrws and dvds would no run under win 98. They also would give errors
after fresh install. What can I change or look into to stop this problem.
Oh they only thing on the SCSI is a CDRW and DVD.
thanks for any suggestions
