scrolling up and down erases graphics in Word 2003 XP SP2

When I get word documents the graphics may or may not be visible and when I
scroll up and down they disappear like they are being erased.

You need to update your graphics card driver from the manufacturer's website
and possibly reduce the hardware acceleration.

I updated the "Intel graphics media accelerator driver" and it fixed my
problem.
