Scroll inside a form, not between records, using mouse wheel

I have the same database on two different computers. On one the mouse scrolls
between fields on the same record (on a form) and on the other it scrolls
between records. I dont want it to scroll between records. How do I change
the mouse wheel behaviour? I'm using Access 2003

Dear Ofer Cohen, thanks for taking the trouble to reply but ,(and I dont mean
to be clever!) please read the question. I dont want to DISABLE the mouse
[Ive seen the page you refer to but its a bit sophisticated anyway!]. If the
default in one database (rightnow) is scrolling (using the mouse wheel)
between FIELDS and in another, on another PC (right now) is scrolling between
RECORDS, that rather sugests that there's some simple inbuilt "switch"
(otions?) to allow me to choose between the two. If there is, where is it?
More to the point, why is one configured one way and the other another?
they're both Excel 2003.

Are the mouses the same? By that I mean, is the mouse software the same
on both computers.

Typically, moving a mouse wheel will NOT move it between fields. I
don't believe I have ever encountered that action for a mouse wheel.
Is there perhaps some setting in the mouse setup that is converting
the mouse wheel movement to a tab instead.

Ron, thanks also to you for replying. The mouse on the Db which scrolls
INSIDE the form is a cordless, infra-red. The other is a conventional roller
ball cable connected one. I disconnected the Infra red and connected the
conventional mouse in its place and rebooted. Nothing changed. the scroll
wheel still scrolled inside the form. Incidentally, the scrolling action is
not from field to field, rather it raises or lowers the form as a whole (it's
almost "two screens" long). The cursor remains in the same field during the
scrolling process.

OK, that makes a little more sense. Moving field to field was something
I had never seen (and I guess I still haven't).

Now for the real problem as to why one goes record to record and the
other does not. So far, nothing I have tried has made any difference.
The wheel goes from record to record no matter how big the form or how
small the window.

If we ever do find out how to keep it on the form you may be able to
market it. We have had multiple posts requesting just that and no one
has come up with a method. Now you have it and we can't figure out how
or why.

I am still going back to the mouse, which is ostensibly the only thing
that is different. Have you gone into the mouse setup/modification
stuff off of the Control panel to see if they have any other options,
anything special in the setup.

Another possible test is to install the infra-red mouse on another
machine and see if the application behaves the same way before and
after the install on this other machine. I guess it depends on whether
you want to risk that.

I seem to have re-posted your last reply! It should have said that when I
have a little time I'll try doing what you suggest with the cordless mous and
look at the settings of the "normal" one. Watch this space!

Whichever mouse is doing the scroll of the form instead of records is
the one I suspect of having the special options and that is the one to
check out.

Well deduced! It's the software for the mouse (and incidentally the
keyboard). The setup facility in the mouse software (not the microsoft mouse
settings in control panel) has a "system default ,(intelimouse)" option and
a setting called "enhanced scroll mode". It doesn't explain what exactly
"enhanced scroll mode" is, but when that option is selected the wheel scrolls
inside the form. When "system default "is selected it scrolls between
records. This is the case even when I connected a conventional (cable and
rollerball) mouse. Might be worth talking with the manufacturers and see if
they can explain. from what you've said there might be a whole new market for
their product!
