Please help

Im a novice web site designer. I have made some basic pages in FP2003 and uploaded them to my ISP provider. I made the pages at resolution 1024x768. When i view the pages on the net they are fine. But when i view them on a machine with anything less than 1024x768 then the writing on the pages 'overlaps'. I was expecting the left/right scroll bars to appear but they are not. Please help!!

Hi Dave,

Is there a URL that we can view?

There's lots of things that can cause this..generally speaking two of the
main ways this happens is a result of table widths being too high in
pixels..or images or other elements that have too high of a width.

Actually now that I re-read your question it sounds like you want a scroll
bar to appear? If that is the case then try putting your content in a
fixed-width table set to some high number of pixels..you may now have it in
a table set to 100% with which will resize itself to the viewers resolution.

Hi Dave,

Two things that I can see that are contributing to the problem:

You are using absolute positioning, which works well with some browsers but
not so well with others.

Also there are a number of areas where you have used your space bar in an
attempt to position elements. This can cause very unpredictable renderings
in different browsers and resolutions. You can see that in HTML by areas
that look like this:

        &nbsp

Your best bet is to still use tables and table cells in your pages to
position elements
