script suggestions

I know this isn't technically a frontpage question but youall have been so
nice helping me with my frontpage websites I hope you could now too. I want
to chang over one of my site to a directory, a basic webamster link site plus
articles, forum and information. Anyone have any suggestions? I have tried a
couple of scripts already and hate them, phpmydirectory and I can't remember
the other name. Any ideas would be highly appreciated. - Kim

Can you provide some samples of what you want, and be a little more specific
please? Is "phpmydirectory" similar to what you want, or is a "web portal"
as per the examples below more along the lines of what you're looking for?
(These typically contain a calendar, articles, blogs, news, forums, and
voting polls etc.).

http://basic.aspapp.net/ (ASP application)

http://yawps.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/demo/index.cgi (perl/cgi application)

http://www.phpfox.com/demo/ (PHP application)

If these are similar to what you're after try searching "web portal" on
www.hotscripts.com (which is where I got the above from - the first listing
in the results for the three main script platforms - ASP, Perl, and PHP -
there are others, but these are the examples I've found) or in Google or
your favourite search engine or script archive site - you're bound to find
something to your liking.

Hope this helps.

I don't mind the look of phpmydirectory, if I added a template to it to add
some color. If you want you can see what it looks like at my site
www.oxfordcredit.com. I have just launched this version/script and been told
it contains 301 or 302 redirects and is not SEO friendly so I am looking for
something with this look but SEO friendly. Thanks for answering my question
:) Any ideas about this type of script?
