John

I get the following error message when attempting to
use "Help" to get an older program to work with Windows
XP:

Heading: Internet Explorer Script Error

An error has occurred in the script on this page:

Line 32
Char: 1
Error: Automation server can't create object
Code: 0
URL:hcp//system/compatctr/compatmode.htm
_______________________________________

the error message asks if I want to continue running
scripts on this page and no matter if I answer "Yes"
or "No" I can not continue. The buttons at the bottom
that normally say "Back", "Next" etc. are blank.
I would appreciate any help you could provide.

Some old programs won't work with XP no matter what you do. But if you want to stop seeing the error message, go to Internet Options, Advanced, unchecked "Display notification of every script error" and check "Disable script debugging."

Mary - thanks for the response. The problem is that I
can never get to attempting to run the program. As soon
as I click into the "Compatibility Wizard" I get the
message that an error has occurred in the script on this
page.....etc. Additionally the bottom buttons on the
compaitbility wizard, i.e. "Next" "Cancel" etc are all
blank. If one of the blank buttons is clicked another
script error occurs. Any ideas?

Tnx - John
