script engine no worky!

i ran System Mechanic one time and it lunched many of my settings w/o undos
available.

Now .vbs files won't run, and when i try to run anything requiring
cscript.exe or wscript.exe i get this message in box form twice:
"The procedure entry point DnsApiFree could not be located in the dynamic
link library DNSAPI.dll."

i have tried to re-regsvr32 DNSAPI.dll, but it says back it may be corrupt
to check in PVIEW... but i stop there. i have searched through the registry
looking for .vbs and wscript.exe but nothing jumps out as obviously unusual
to me, but i'm not a registry expert. nothing was changed by me.

can someone offer me some assistance, please?
thanks.

Try a System Restore and quit using crap like System Mechanic !
Most programs that supposedly clean the registry just screw it up. XP
handles it's registry well.

Reinstalling Windows Scripting Host, using the Windows Scripting Host Setup
Information File.

Click Start, Run and type %WinDir%\Inf
Locate the file named WSH.INF

Note: If you've configured Windows Explorer to hide extensions for known
file types, then WSH.INF would be shown as WSH.

Right-click WSH.INF and choose Install.

In flounder5000 had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

First System Mechanic's a wonderful application so long as you read the help
file and know what you're doing with it. Now open System Mechanic again and
head for the tweak's section. It didn't do it by itself. It never does.
That's impossible. Now in the tweak section click the button to revert to
the standard settings. From there on out make sure to read about each tweak
before applying it - the help file isn't that good for that stuff - so
search first if you need more help before applying tweaks. System Mechanic
doesn't do anything without your permission - I've been using it since it
was a wee little beta product eons ago and I'm pretty sure that there's no
way you can make it do something by itself either.

See if reinstalling Windows Script engine helps.

Download details: Windows Script 5.6 for Windows XP and Windows 2000:
