Screensaver not working?

R

Robert McLure

Hello all!

I've got a small problem that is turning out more annoying than anything
else. I've got my screensaver set to start at 5 minutes, and I've got
selected On Resume, Display Welcome Screen. When my screensaver starts, it
will run for about 5 minutes, and then the Welcome Screen displays and the
screensaver does not activate once again. I then have the Welcome Screen
showing until I go and log back in.

Could there be something that is "waking" the screensaver? I can't figure
this one out. I don't mind the screensaver waking if there is some kind of
activity on the computer (which I don't think I have any running), but I do
mind that the screensaver doesn't start up again.

Any help would be appreciated.

are a waste of electricity! I push the off button on my monitor. A 17"
screen is not unlike a 17" TV, just burning energy.. Also, they use
memory to store them. I deleted every screen saver in my system by
searching: *.scr that is: star.scr Just think about it.
Oh, and no more annoyances!

Your computer is what use electricity, not the screensaver.

Today's screensavers are nothing more than eye candy since monitors now have
burn-in prevention tech. built-in.

I don't use screensavers anymore...
I push the off button on my monitor.

....I have my Power Management properties set to put my PC in S3 standby mode
after 5 minutes of inactivity.

I don't see any reason to. The 10 .SCR files only take up a total of
2.26MB, and my HD is 60GB. As of this writing, I've only used 3.39GB, so I
don't see a reason to delete them.
