Hi
I put my computer back to factory condition and everything is fine except my
screensaver only goes for about 5 minutes then the screen goes off as if it
is not switched on. I have tried different ones but it is the same. Then a
game I played before doing factory condition does not work and the error
message is about installing indeo codec and it says can't find language file.
I installed xp codec pack 2.6 but have no clue what it is or what it does.
Otherwise my computer is perfect, any help would be great and in step by step
instructions, Thank you. Waiting for your reply.............

You need to get the latest updates for your Macromedia player/flash player,
Java Script and Media Player to play and the reset of the security updates as
restoring to factory settings made your system lose Updates.

That is exactly what happens but I am struggling to find all these places to
put it right. I have installed media player, updated quick time and java. I
am struggling to find windows setup tab. I go to contol panel, add and
remove then I can't find the next step, so can't add all default codecs.
Should I get rid of xp codecs that I put on yesterday as the game still does
not work? I can't find macromedia player on my computer or where to download
it. On devise manager the only red cross is on 1394 net adaptor as it
disabled. Otherwise everything seems to be working. Keep trying game but
still the same so far.

What Codes you did download and from where? yes try to uninstall it and Try
the updates from MS.
What Service pack you have installed (SP1,or SP2)?.
The Indeo codec is not included in Windows XP Home Edition SP1.

Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click on Sounds, Speech, and Audio
Devices >> Double click
On Sounds and Audio Devices.
On the Window click Hardware Tab, scroll down to Video Codes Highlight it
and click Properties.
On the Properties pay attention for any conflict or malfunction error
message then click on Properties Do you see the Indeo Codec Intel there?.

Try to get the updates and see if that will help and did you installed the
Graphics Latest Driver?.

It is xp codec pack 2.0.6 and web address on it is www.updatexp.com, so
should I still delete it? I have sp2 . I will carry on and follow your
instructions in the morning. Where do I go to install latest driver and
where do I find it from? Sorry I do not know where everything is, the only
way I remember is making notes, which I do when I get the answer to my
problems. As you never know I might need them again, Thank you for your
help, I hope we can get this problem fixed.

You need windows media 10 and you can download from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...53-3759-40cf-80d5-cde4bbe07999&displaylang=en

The latest flash player from here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW

and the latest for your Video card you can go to the manufacturer of your
Video card and download the driver for your Video Card Specs.
First just Run Windows Updates Engine on your computer and Install the
security updates for your system.

Hi
Just checked for for that Indeo Codec Intel and it is not there, so is that
where the problem is?

I have just downloaded Adobe Shock player thinking that might be the problem
but it is still the same, it has made no difference.
I will wait until I hear from you before I do anything else, Thank you.

Hi
Updated with Microsoft and did media yesterday. I can't see what version it
is, but think it is the new one. I did download Adobe yesterday as well.
Restarted the computer and tried game, it is still the same. Screen goes
black then back to desktop without a cursor. I have to press ctrl, alt and
delete to get box up to end it. I do not about this graphic card or where to
find it. So what do I do now? Waiting for your reply in the mean time I will
follow instructions to check video Codes.

Hi
I fixed the problem, I got rid of thar other Indeo codecs that I had put on.
Then I went to www.free-codecs.com and downloaded Ligos Indeo Codecs and the
game works. So Thank you very much for taking the time to help me out,
cheers.
