SCREEN SAVER STOPS WHEN NORMAL "Computer is locked" TIME OUT OCCURS.

SYSTEM: Windows 2000 PRO

I have a screen saver running. When the normal time out occurs for
the computer to lock, several unexpected things happen:

1. The screen goes to solid black

2. The computer is locked

3. The screen saver has stopped.

Movement of the mouse or tapping the spacebar key, changes the screen
from black to the "Computer is locked" dialog box. Pressing
Ctrl-Alt-Del and entering password unlocks and returns to program
running when screen saver started.

Is there a way to:

DESIRED ACTION: Have the screen saver continue to run AND display the
"Computer is locked" dialog box.

Thanks!!

The black screen is probably the power saving feature kicking in. (the power
button on the screen saver tab: set to presentation if you don't want it to
go black ...ever)

For the second desired action, I don't think this can be done unless you
want to create a bitmap of the "screen is locked" display and make your own
screen saver.

Scott,

Thanks for your reply. I changed the "power savings" setting to
presentation as you suggested. The screen saver is now present at all
times, ie the "black screen" does not appear. Tap the keyboard or move
the mouse and the "computer is locked" enter your password appears;
enter password and the screen reverts back to the last running
program.

So, Thanks again for the tip!!
