screen saver doesn't work

Hello,

I just bought a copy of Windows XP Pro and installed it. I noticed that my
screen saver doesn't come on after the set time and the odd time that it
does, it stays on for less that a minute and then goes back to the desktop
screen, or logon if I set a password.

Any idea how I can fix this. I've tried diffent screen savers, the ones
that come with Windows XP, I first tried the 3D Windows screen saver.

That would be caused by the computer not being truly idle, and something
causing activity. See what is happening by looking in Task Manager,
Processes, CPU activity.
