screen resolution

I have a new computer and monitor and the monitor is set at 1024x768. My
old monitor was 800x600. In FrontPage 2002 I have a shared border bottom
with a menu with Arial size 1. Now this looks great in FP and on my old
computer but the font is much smaller on my new computer. It is like FP is
a resolution of 800x600 and then when I publish it the font is very small at
a higher resolution. It is this way for all of my writings. Is there a way
to set the screen resolution in FP to be same as my monitor ?

Lolly,

The higher the resolution, the smaller the font appears.

FP as with most Windows applications, use the Windows screen DPI settings.
You can adjust the font size Windows uses to display under Video Card
properties, settings, advanced, general.

I go to control panel and click on display and then settings and it says
1024x768 but this is not the size that FP is using. Where do I find this
video card setting. I would like FP to use the same resolution as most
people use on the web. I looked in the control panel and there was no Video
Card icon. I am using xp professional

Lolly,

Ok, now I am not sure I understand the issue.

Is the issue with the overall resolution you are using under Windows and how
your application are appearing in Windows on your machine?

or

Is the issue that you are working at 1024 x 768 on your machine, but many
users may be viewing your site at 800 x 600 resolution?

If the second issue, FP gives you the ability to see how you page will
appear at 800 x 600 by using the File Menu | Preview in Browser command and
selecting 800 x 600.

Yes I know that and the page looks great while I am working on it and in
800x600 but when I view it in 1024x768 the font is too small. Most of the
people I asked said they used 1024x768 so really feel I need a larger font.
Wish the FP work window was a different resolution.

Increase the size of your fonts to 2 (10 point). This is what I use for body
text in all of my projects.

When designing with FP, it can only use the current Windows Resolution
settings, which have no impact on how a site will look on the web in other
peoples browser and resolutions.

Your site will appear on the net according to the way you
designed it and according to each person's screen
resolution.

The fonts will look bigger in lower resoltions and the
screen space will be less.

Put your items in a table and set it to something like
640px this way people with low res screens won't be forced
to scroll right and see all the items on the page.

And don't make the font too tiny for people with high res
screens.

Test it out in 'preview in browser'; there is an option
for the different screen res sizes......make sure it looks
good before publishing.

the resolution setting is a Windows setting, not a Frontpage setting.

Right-click desktop > Properties > Settings.
