screen pops up at boot

every time I boot my PC, two windows come up.
One is labeled "Diagnostic Traces" and the other is labeled "DrvmCDB". I
ran a drive error check just before this happened and it may be connected,
but I do not know for sure. So please help me:
(1) fix the problem, and
(2) figure out why it is here.
Thanks.

The Diagnostic traces window has the following information:
SSDIAG activated
new _DIAGWINDOW(DrvnQ117)
delete _DIAGWINDOW(DrvnQ117)
new _DIAGWINDOW(DrvmCDB)
new _DIAGWINDOW(DrvnCDB)
delete _DIAGWINDOW(DrvnCDB)
new _DIAGWINDOW(DrvnPPqT)
delete _DIAGWINDOW(DrvnPPqT)
new _DIAGWINDOW(DrvmCDB pending IO)
delete _DIAGWINDOW(DrvmCDB pending IO)
new _DIAGWINDOW(DrvmCDB pending IO)
delete _DIAGWINDOW(DrvmCDB pending IO)
new _DIAGWINDOW(DrvmCDB pending IO)
delete _DIAGWINDOW(DrvmCDB pending IO)

The DrvmCDB window has the following:

Cut & paste > ssdiag < from c:windows/system32... put it in a folder on
your desktop & when you know all is well, you can delete it.

The Diagnostic traces window has the following information:
SSDIAG activated

SSDIAG.EXE is associated with the Equinox "Configuration and DOS
Diagnostic for DOS and Windows platforms" See
http://www.equinox.com/support/utilities/index2.html

Look in Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs for any reference to this
program and uninstall it if present.

Also use Start - Run - MSCONFIG and look on the Startup tab for any
references to SSDIAG.EXE and uncheck them.

Good luck

Hi,

I suffered the same (very) annoying problem with DrvmCDB screens on booting up. I solved it by making tiny adjustment to a single file. The file is "ssdiag.ini" and should be located in C:\windows. I ajdusted the entries at three points from WindowState=1 to WindowState=0. If it is the same with you, you will see familiar wording in that file.

I hope this helps
