Screen is completely dark.

My screen is completely dark. By using a desk lamp I am now able to see the
screen partially, however, without the light it's total darkness. I'm using a
Compaq nv 6220, perhaps it's the settings, although not sure; therefore any
help would be most grateful.

LCD? backlight could be out.

Briteness/Contrast controls on MONITOR could be fix

Any advise given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS (Normally, Usually, Generally, Sometimes :)
