Screen Inverted

Hi,

I had this problem a couple months ago and someone answered it for me....and
now the problem has happened again and I can't find my original post.

My problem is my computer screen has inverted. Right now as I type this, I
have to stand my monitor on its right hand side to see the words on the
screen properly.

I forgot how to get it back to normal. I went into the control panel and was
looking around but I just can't seem to remember how to do it.

I remember the solution was very simple...and if anyone knows, I'd be
grateful.

Thanks,
Dan

Works for NVidia Cards, may work for others.

Right click the Desktop | Properties |
Settings tab | Advanced button | Video Card tab |
NVRotate | Select Landscape (0 degree rotation) |
Click Apply | Click OK | Click OK

Hi Wes,

Thanks but that didn't do it.

I remember the solution did have to do with "rotating" back to normal.

But I don't remember how to get back to that function.

If anyone does, please let me know.

As far as your commands, I was able to right click the desktop, click
properties, than settings, then advanced, but then there was no video card
tab.

After I clicked advanced what I saw was:

""Adapter, Color Management, Monitor, General, TroubleShoot"

I figured Monitor was the logical one but when I clicked over there I didn't
see any function whereby I coudl rotate the monitor.

Anyone else help please? I know there is a solution to this problem someone
gave it to me before but I just can't find the post!!!

Dan, can it be that this inversion is the result of a setting of your
monitor hardware rather than in the Windows Control Panel?

You could try the buttons on your monitor to get a menu.

Dan,
This is the only other post of yours that I found related to screen being
rotated.

Screen is totally off kilter

Actually, on this computer, you can rotate the screen presentation
every way you want using ctrl + alt + [arrow key]. If you push down,
the screen literally goes upside down. It also inverts the mouse
function, so be ready for that.

This is support for people who have screens which can be rotated
physically. I'm thinking of getting one. Presumably, you press
ctrl+alt+{whichever arrow key corresponds to where you want the top of
the display to be} then rotate the screen. Some screens have sensors,
which do this automatically (in conjunction with drivers that know about
it).

I've always been tempted to see if anything happens when I do this. but
I'm too scared that it will get stuck that way (if the wind stops
blowing, for example) and I'll spend the rest of my career standing on
my head. :)

Yay! I knew it had to be some simple combination of keys pushed...
because my cat rolled over onto the keyboard and inverted it in the
first place! Thanks!

I'm a dog person, but if one of my dogs turned my display upside down by
rolling on my keyboard then the first thing I'd try is rolling them over
the keyboard in the opposite direction. It almost certainly wouldn't fix
the problem (and might make it worse) but at least it would put the dog
off doing it again! :)

I cannot find info detailing type of video card but laptop is Dell
Inspiron 5160.
I found the following recently, try it and see what happens!

on Start Menu select control Panel. On panel Menu select Display. then
select Settings tab. Then select Advanced button. Now you should be on
Page "(Multiple Monitors) and XGI Volari - XP5 v.2.097.DELL. Click
Rotation tab, click on button to indicate position where you like top to
be. Click OK to effect change.

It is difficult to describe how to indicate the desired position so
experiment!
What I found seems to be a standard piece of Microsoft programme so it
seems surprising it is not more accessible. I could not find it by a
"Search".

Giltech.

Ctrl, Alt , up arrow .( together ) [Usually]
