screen image jumps

I've noticed that on both my home machine, running XP Home SP2, and my office
machine, running XP Pro SP2, the image on the screen will occasionaly jump up
something like three lines. This happens in both Word and IE (and maybe
other programs, but I can't remember specifically). I haven't noticed any
commonalities associated with the jumps, that is, I haven't been able to
associate the screen jumps with anything I've done or any other event.

Any ideas out there?
