Man do I need help. Recently my computer has started freezing up, will start
ok and some times run for a few hours or only a few minutes before the monior
freezes. No button combinations work and the only option is to pull the plug.
I have re-installed windows as a clean version but it is still happening. If
anyone can give me some idea as to what has gone wrong I would really
appreciate it.

Hi

Have a look in the Event Viewer for any 'Errors'. If any are there, could
you please post the Event ID & Source? With those your problem could be
isolated.

can you take a look in the event viewer and post here the errors you see
around the time the pc freezes?

TO access the event viewer go to START> CONTROL PANEL>ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS>
EVENT VIEWER

these problems are usually DRIVER related.. so please post your computer
configuration,
(what hardware your computer has).

Are you using the latest drivers for your graphic card?

It sound like overheating. Take the cover off and stand a room fan by it
facing away, to pull air through it and see how it behaves. You can either
cool the room, fit a more powerful fan, or a pci card fan.

Sorry, but an individual reply goes into my spam filter

I have checked the event log and it has an error warning regarding W32time in
the system heading and warning in application source EventSystem. I have
followed the help instructions for the W32time and will have to wait and see
if it does the job or is something else. Time will tell but thanks for the
hints so far.

well I synched the time but no ggod, still freezes, I am running a pentium 4
chip 256 mb ram, geforce2 card and thats about all I can remember. Pulled it
apart and cleaned it the other day so I dont think it is overheating.1
warning is SOURCE-event system, cat-52 then says "the COM+ Event system
failed to fire the ConnectionMade method on subscription a load of numbers
then The subscriber returned HRESULT800004001. Hope this helps somone to help
me. dont want to have to take it in if its only something I could fix myself.
Its annoying that it will start running then everything just stops

the wintime is insignificant... that would never crash your system.

Do the following 4 steps:

1) have you checked for viruses or spyware?

Checkout the free programs here to scan your pc [free]

http://www.computerboom.net/security/

2) try downloading and installing the latest driver from your card here:
www.nvidia.com

3 ) also use this program to find out detailed information about your
computer [free]
http://www3.sympatico.ca/gtopala/siw_download.html send us the basic
information

4) Download CPUZ133 a program that will tell you what kinds of ram you have
and post back that info..
http://www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php

if you have 2 different sticks of ram that may be the problem

Start > Run, copy & paste > eventvwr.msc /s & press Enter.
Scroll down to the last time your computer crashed and it should tell
you what device/driver caused the problem?

COM+ Event system failed to fire the ConnectionMade
