Is it possible that you have turned on the High Contrast mode? This is
normally done through the Vista Ease of Access Center, Make the computer
easier to see. Try pressing ALT + LEFT SHIFT + PRINT SCREEN
simultaneously. This combination both brings up and shuts down the High
Contrast mode. On my laptop, PRINT SCREEN requires the use of another
key to bring up f1, f2, etc. This means pressing down four keys
simultaneously — a little cumbersome but not too difficult.
