Scorched3D is a cross-platform 3D remake of the popular 2D artillery game
Scorched Earth. Scorched3D can be played against the computer, other

Changes:
This release adds landscapes which are very different between rounds, trees
and waves, a free market economy, a new game GUI, compatibility fixes for

Sheesh...

Haven't tried it myself but probably right. The landscapes would take up
most of it. Friend of mine just bought a Windows game (can't remember the
name) that came on THREE DVDs.

The zip download is 18.6 mb. Installed (unzipped) it requires either
49.3 mb or 63.5 mb depending on how you define mb. The game is kinda
frustrating because the computer "bots" are so slow. Also, every shot
has to either be almost straight up and down, or parallel to the
horizon. It's very hard to be as precise with your aim as you want to
be. Acquiring a proper view angle is somewhat confusing, but works
once you get the hang of it. The graphics are pretty nice and it's a
good way to kill some time.

I mainly liked the fact that it doesn't seem to require installation.
