schema.ini just for formatting?

Is it possible to create a schema.ini file that skips over/does not import
specific fields? I have a text file that includes fields i do not want to
import. I know i can create a specification file to do this, but was
wondering if it was possible to do this with a schema.ini file, too. Or is
schema.ini purely for formatting?

thanks

A schema.ini file is not just for formatting.
When it exists it can be used instead of an import spec.
I never use them with Access.
I only looked into them when I started using VB.Net. Then they came in very
handy.
