Scheduling question

Using XPro SP1

I don't understand the 'scheduled event' operation.

At 1 AM I turn off my computer.
At 5 AM I placed 'run Norton anti-virus' in the scheduled events.

Am I correct in assuming that at 5AM the computer starts up, runs Norton
anti-virus, then shuts down? Also, what about stuff like that requires
my permission - like 'OK to install new virus files'. Does it stop at
this point and wait for me to say 'ok' or what?

Thanks

No you are incorrect, in order for the scheduler to run
the computer must be on!

Unless you schedule automatic download of defs, you will
have to do it manually. Doing just the nightly scan of
your system won't tell Norton to look for updated Def's,
You must either do it manually or schedule the auto update.
if you mark the auto update, no other action is required
by you to download and apply new def's

Hi,

If you shut the system down, then the task scheduler will not be running.
Therefore your 5AM event will never occur.
