Scheduled Tasks

I have set my Ad-Aware SE Pro edition to run at 1:00 AM every morning. It is
in the scheduled tasks folder and the info. is all preset on the program
itself. It is supposed to do 1 single scan of our entire computer and delete
everything. If it is doing this, then how come in the program's stats., it
says it has only been run 3 times? Yet, I've had the program set to do this
for the past few months. If Ad Aware is not scanning, I can only assume that
all the other tasks I have set are failing to run as well. Anyone got any
ideas?

Change the View in Scheduled Tasks to Details and see what is indicated
in the Last Run Time column.

As it often will. A 0x0 return code means that as far as the task
scheduler is concerned it was able to run the task without problems.

Yes, the task should run whether you are logged on or not.

Can you instruct me or lead me to a site with instructions on how to set up a
task to begin even while I'm logged off because the options I set must not
have worked. Something is not clicking if the program shows that it has only
been run 3 times.

That's the way scheduled tasks work. When you set up the task you have
to provide an ID and password that will be used to run the task. With
the ID and password specified, the task can run whether anyone is logged
on or not, since it has an account to run under.

This article discusses trouble shooting scheduled tasks:

How To Troubleshoot Scheduled Tasks in Windows XP

However, is it possible that the problem isn't with the task running,
but that the program doesn't update the usage count when run from the
command line? Copy the run command from your scheduled task and paste
it into the Run box on the start menu and click OK. Does the program
run successfully when you do that? If so, does the usage count on the
program get incremented?

And you don't want it to? Check in the program settings to not have it
startup on bootup, or remove it's entry from one of these two locations:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
