We have a scheduled task running on our w2000 SP4 server that backs up some
folders. About every second or third day, I look in Scheduled tasks and it
says could not start. I check the properties, then next to Run as: is the
domain\administrator and a Set Password button. I click on that, enter the
password and confirm and all is OK - for the next few days.

Why does it do this? How can I fix?

Thanks, Neal

This happens regularly on machines where the system is
installed on a FAT partition, when the time changes from
standard to daylight saving and back again. I haven't seen
it happen in between. If your system partition is FAT
then perhaps there is something funny going on with
your time settings, causing the phenomenon you report.

Thanks for your input.

I checked all drives, all NTFS. Regional/time settings all seem OK.
