Schedule Automatic Send/Receive set to 5 mins but running every mi

I have set up Outlook 2002's automatic send/receive at every 5 minutes but it
is running every minute. I have checked all the settings and even closed
Outlook but still the same problem.

Any idea why this is happening?

5 minutes is way too short an interval. Use a reasonable one: no less than
15 minutes.

Same happen when you load Outlook in its safe mode to eliminate loading
any of the add-ons that you installed into Outlook?

outlook.exe /safe

If you closed Outlook (which means to exit it and NOT just minimize to a
tray icon) then Outlook cannot be doing anything when it is not running.
No program can do anything if it isn't loaded into memory and running.
Something ELSE is performing those mail polls.
